Private-equity firm Findos Investor bought Maier Sports from the Maier family in August 2011, and Schwan-STABILO (owner of Deuter and Ortovox) took over the Maier Sports group, including Gonso, in July 2015. Schwan-STABILO's own site lists Maier Sports and GONSO in its family-owned group's Outdoor division, and FashionUnited (1 Jul 2026) reports a new MD for the group's Maier Sports GmbH; founding year not confirmed in opened sources.
